The word blog comes from the joining of the words web and log. It is a type of website that is maintained by usually an individual with regular entries that may record events, have video or pictures or just contain general commentary. Entries are usually archived and are displayed in a reverse chronological order.
The use of blogs varies as blogs provide news on many different subjects, function as personal diaries, records of events and are increasingly as educational tools.
